Barbara was 56 years old when she passed away in Texas after a lengthy illness. She was well known at the University of Texas Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center where she earned her M.A. in American Studies. She worked in the photography collection and was Assistant Curator of photographs in the Amon Carter Museum beginning in 1988. Her accomplishments in the field of photographic archives was well recognized.
